1st Appleton (St Monica’s) Brownies
Calling all former Brownies and Leaders to join the 50th Year celebrations
The unit meets at St Monica’s Primary school each week and is about to celebrate a special birthday. It is the oldest in Appleton and will celebrate its 50th year anniversary this Spring! We are inviting all former girls and leaders to our Birthday afternoon tea on Sunday 11th May between 2-3.30pm in the school hall at St Monica’s. It would be great to see as many there as possible. Please pass this on to others who have been associated with the unit. In order to gauge numbers please email Fiona Goddard at fiona@fgconsulting.co.uk.
Welcome Message
St. Monica’s is a church made up of ordinary people who love God, want to worship Him together, pray for the world and work to make His Kingdom here on Earth.
Our Parish Priest is Canon George Browne. He has served our Parish for many years and loves to come into school and speak to the children and families.
The people who go to St. Monica’s church try to look after each other, and offer a warm welcome to anybody who wants to join or visit us.
Broken bread
God, whom we meet in bread and wine,
in body broken and blood outpoured,
fill us with your compassion,
that we may hear the cries of the hungry
and reach out to those in need.
Engender in us a thirst for justice,
that the hungry will be satisfied
and the rich sent empty away.
Roll away our apathy
that, with arms outstretched,
we may offer life in place of death
and hope in the face of despair.
Amen.
