Welcome to St. Monica's Catholic Primary School
Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to St Monica’s Catholic Primary School, a happy and nurturing community at the heart of Appleton, Warrington.
At St Monica’s, our mission, “Loving to learn; learning to love like Jesus”, is at the centre of all that we do. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, we strive to create a school where every child feels known, valued and supported to grow in faith, character and understanding. We warmly welcome children and families of all faiths and backgrounds, and pride ourselves on the strong sense of belonging that makes our school feel like a family.
Our vision is shaped by our core values of Curiosity, Compassion, Courage, Collaboration and Resilience. These values are lived out daily; in our classrooms, in our relationships, and in the opportunities we provide for our children. We want every pupil to develop a love of learning, a strong moral compass, and the confidence to take their place in the wider world.
We are ambitious for all of our pupils. Alongside high-quality teaching and learning, we have carefully designed a curriculum that prepares children not only academically, but as individuals ready for the modern world. Our curriculum is enriched with meaningful opportunities that support pupils’ personal development, whether through our Forest School provision, creative arts, musical experiences, or wider enrichment activities that broaden horizons and build confidence.
At St Monica’s, we believe education is about the whole child. We aim to nurture thoughtful, reflective learners who care deeply about others and the world around them. Our pupils leave us as effective communicators, proud of who they are, respectful of diversity, and ready for the next stage of their journey.
I hope our website gives you a sense of what makes St Monica’s such a special place. If you would like to visit and see our school in action, you would be most welcome.
