Deaf Awareness Week - 2023
On Tuesday 25th April, we had the opportunity to learn all about deafness within schools and outside of schools. As it is Deaf Awareness Week, it was a wonderful opportunity for the students to understand how amazing our ears are and how deafness affects more people than we may think. We looked at how we can support people with the disability and understood the parts of the ear through hands-on activities and shared videos. The students enjoyed seeing a familiar face (Strictly Come Dancing star Rose Ayling Ellis) gracefully dance with and without music, showing that there are many things we can do to aid hearing loss! Our understanding of how the ears work and how we can support others with hearing impairments have been both beneficial and fun to learn about!
