Mini Vinnies

Who are the Mini Vinnies?

Mini Vinnies follow in the footsteps of Christ and St Vincent de Paul.

The Mini Vinnies are the youngest members of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), an international Christian voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms by providing practical assistance to people in need.

The Mini Vinnies get together in primary schools and parishes across England and Wales to live out their mission of see, think, do, supporting their school community and beyond alongside the SVP. The Mini Vinnies at St Monica's are from years 3 to 6.

See - Think - Do

Mini Vinnies come together to pray and to turn their concern into action. This is done through a see - think - do approach. In our meetings, the children see what is going on in their school and local community, they think about what that might feel like or challenges there may be, and then plan actions that could help.

Supporting prayer life

The Mini Vinnies support the faith and prayer life of the school, taking back to their classes the things they have made, supporting their classes with their prayers and celebrations of the word, and joining with the parish in prayer sessions.
